D1.7 – 4th meeting report – Bucharest
Half-way through the project, the SOHO partners meet at POLITEHNICA Bucharest on 19–20 May 2025 to validate the first training materials, plan the training of trainers and prepare the interim report.

Day 1 – Library of UNSTPB, 19 May 2025
Professor Tudor Prisecaru opened the meeting, and Professor Gabriel Dima reminded the partners that the interim report is due after 18 months and that WP2 has been successfully completed: the consortium is now fully in WP3. Assoc. Prof. Vladimir Tanasiev reviewed the first year and a half – milestones reached, but the most substantial deliverables, the training materials, are due in the second half of 2025 – and set out the road ahead: the Learning Materials Platform as the core of dissemination and training, training of trainers delivered by the European partners to the Asian partners, and integration of the modules into the Knowledge and Competence Centres as accredited components.
The three module leaders presented their work: Emanuele Ogliari (POLIMI) the learning-outcome framework of the Smart Renewable Energy module, built on constructive alignment and Bloom’s taxonomy; Vladimir Tanasiev (UNSTPB) the training stand developed for the Smart Sustainable Accommodation module; Aïcha Sekhari and Yacine Ouzrout (ULL) the “learn, experiment, apply” methodology of the Smart Transportation module with co-constructed regional case studies. All WP3 content – 20 courses leading to micro-credentials, translated into the partners’ languages – must be finalised by 31 August 2025.
In the afternoon the European and Asian partners worked in three breakout groups to validate content, activities, case studies and online learning plans. The feedback was concrete: add recycling and carbon-credit topics to the accommodation module; simplify the energy module for non-engineering audiences and add field trips; strengthen environmental and social impact and non-European case studies in the transportation module; and, across all modules, add professional ethics and tailor the message to four target groups – general public, academia, policy makers and students. For WP4, two options for the training of trainers were discussed, including a centralised session in Milan of at least five days with six participants per Asian country.
Day 2 – 20 May 2025
The second day covered administrative, financial and dissemination matters. The consortium restated its commitments: at least six courses on the platform, 1 000 users reached, 36 trainers trained (six per university) and 1 000 students taught – about 170 per partner. Vladimir Tanasiev announced the next meetings – a validation meeting in Lyon on 27–28 November 2025, training sessions in Bangladesh – and the Final Symposium in Malaysia in 2026, with workshops for policy makers and academia on the SOHO outcomes. Alina Borcos presented the dissemination status: website and promotional materials under way, the dissemination plan started with USM, and the Erasmus+ reporting template to be filled in by all partners for every activity.
