Meet the stakeholders: SOHO dissemination meeting in Cox’s Bazar

On 15 September 2026, AIUB and Jahangirnagar University jointly organised a SOHO dissemination meeting at Ocean Paradise Hotel & Resort, Cox’s Bazar, attended by more than 50 participants including the Additional Deputy Commissioner, tourism authorities, academics and other key stakeholders of the region. Chaired by the project coordinator Dr. Vladimir Tanasiev, with the SOHO Bangladesh team led by Prof. Md. Abdur Rahman (AIUB) and Prof. M. Shamim Kaiser (JU), the session presented the objectives and expected outcomes of the project, with a focus on smart transportation, smart and sustainable accommodation, renewable energy integration, capacity building and the Knowledge and Competence Centres. The discussions underlined the need for closer collaboration between academia, government, tourism authorities and industry to support sustainable tourism in Bangladesh.
