WP5 – Enhanced Knowledge & Competence Centres Development and Recommendations for Policy Makers

WP5 makes SOHO last beyond the project: Knowledge & Competence Centres in the partner universities of Southeast Asia, partnerships with government agencies, tourism boards and industry, a business plan for the courses and policy recommendations for decision makers.

Objectives

The work package develops Knowledge & Competence Centres that act as regional centres of excellence for smart sustainable tourism; it builds the partnerships with public authorities, tourism boards and the private sector that make the centres sustainable; it provides training, mentoring and capacity building for local stakeholders and pilots new technologies and practices; it monitors the impact of the centres on the local economy and tourism; and it makes sure they are inclusive and accessible, in particular for marginalised groups.

T5.6 Business plan Financial viability of the courses after the project and equivalence of the micro-credentials. UNSTPB

Where we are

The structure and operating model of the centres were agreed at the Bucharest meeting (May 2025) and the premises were set at the Lyon meeting (November 2025); the partnerships and the policy recommendations are under way.
